Description
Two Antique Continental Porcelain Figural Snuff Boxes
the first a German porcelain snuff box modeled as the head of a Turk, the hinged cover painted with a maritime scene to the interior, possibly late 18th century, with blue crossed swords mark (2 7/8 in.) (gilt metal mount and cover are detached from head, shallow old flake to edge of neck); the second in the form of a bearded man with crown (possibly Neptune), attributed to Samson of Paris, with blue crossed swords mark, likely mid-19th century and modeled after an 18th century Meissen example, with engraved gilt metal hinged cover (3 in.) (some wear to painted "hair," some chipping to points of crown, gilt metal mount likely re-attached).
