Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate to Late Dynastic Period, 21st to 31st Dynasty, ca. 1070 to 332 BCE. A gorgeous and wearable necklace in the form of an Egyptian pectoral collar, formed from dozens of ancient beads including tubular faience beads in aqua blue and green-brown hues and cylindrical disc and barrel shaped beads in shades of purple, pink, grey, blue, green, beige, and black. The necklace is arranged in three rows of barrel and cylindrical beads with the two innermost rows separated by tubular beads and the other two separated by barrel and disc shaped beads. The outermost row features a fringe border of tube beads with cylindrical disc bead terminals. All of the components are held together with brass wire, and the terminals are capped with a small loop and circular clasp. A lovely wearable piece from the ancient world! Wearable. Ancient beads strung in modern times. A few beads have some light abrasions, nicks/chips, and miniscule perforations, commensurate with age. Otherwise, very nice.
