(Disneyland, c. 1954-55). A 1953 copyrighted map of Anaheim updated in 1954 with Disney provided graphics to mark the location of the new and upcoming Disneyland theme park. Construction of Disneyland began on July 16, 1954 with the park opening just about one year later on July 17, 1955. Disney had to work closely with the city of Anaheim in order to gain local support around the planning and construction of his new family-friendly theme park. This map represents the beginning of that relationship and the birth of Disneyland in Anaheim, California. The map is in good condition with normal wear from age and use, including tape that has been applied to the map and edge wear.
