19th Century Ifugao Seated King Bulul Statue Pair. Carved wood figures; with dark brown patina. Red 'David Howard Tribal Art' stickers; '340A' catalogue number. Circa 1890. {Approximate dimensions: 28 - 29 1/4 high x 6 3/4 wide - 7 3/4 wide x 7 - 6 1/2 inches deep.}. Similar examples in "The Last Filipino Head Hunters" by David Howard, page 49. Ex-collection: Bill Galvin. Ex-collection: Georgia Sales. Condition: Overall wear consistent with age and tribal use. One with crack to the shoulder. Some insect loss and parina loss. Holes drilled in ear lobes are lacking any kind of earring or other decoration.
