Pedro Linares (Mexico, 1906-1992) "Waterseller," mixed media and papier mache sculpture. Pedro Linares began his career as a maker of carton Judas sculptures for Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo and many other artists from the Academia de San Carlos. He created the art form known as Alebrijes: surreal, winged, richly painted and fiercely expressive animal forms; a style that continues to this day in Mexico. Multiple repairs.
