Description
Probably Wisconsin (collected in the Milwaukee area in the 1970s), mid-19th century, pine. With a single door with lower panel and latticework upper panel. 77" high, 49" wide, 16.5" deep. This form, so-names for the door's similar appearance to the door of a jail, is distinctive of Germanic communities in the Upper Midwest and parts of Canada. See Lyndon C. Condition
The paint has some age, but is not original, the interior shelves have been replaced, the hinges appear to be earlier replacements (the original leather hinges are still present)
