JOHN DEACONS (SCOTTISH, B. 1950) MILLEFIORI AND SWIRL STUDIO ART GLASS TRIPLE PAPERWEIGHT, graduated stack, the top example being a Clichy-style swirl with a central Clichy-style rose and yellow, red, white, and blue swirls, mid-tier weight being a close-pack millefiori with silhouette canes including a sheep and rooster, resting on a fuchsia and white filigree stave, and bottom weight being a spaced millefiori with silhouette canes on an upset muslin ground, signature cane located in the base paperweight and being dated "2014", retains original manufacturing label, polished base. Deacons Glass, Crieff, Scotland. Dated 2014. 5 1/4" HOA, 2 7/8" D paperweight base.
Undamaged.
Provenance: From the collection of Carl Carter, Austin, TX.
Catalogue Note: This form takes a considerable amount of skill to produce, and few try to tackle its difficulties. For that reason, this is one of the rarer and more sought after forms in paperweights.
