Description
Pair of very charming leatherbound Young Ladies Albums. Both are hardback and contain numerous letters, inscriptions and essays from friends and relatives of the albums' owners. One is red cloth with elaborate embossing and gilt, and illustrations inside. Inscription states "Susan Smith's Album". First dated entry is 1843. The other has a black cover with an elaborate gilt border. Front cover has separated from the spine. Title page reads "the Young Lady's Remembrancer", with the name Mary H. Abell in calligraphy on the fifth page. First entry dated 1930.
Dimensions are 8 in h x 6.75 in w x .75 in d and 7.75 in h x 6 in w x .75 in d. Condition is fair with chipping pages, foxing, discoloration, and wear to covers, with boards separating. . Please call or email for a detailed condition report.
