Lot includes one spoon by important Canadian silversmith Laurent Amiot (Quebec, late 18th or 19th century), one with silver-gilt bowl by N. Harding & Co. (Haverhill, USA, 1844-61), one with engraved Latin phrase and winged bell, illegible maker's mark (Edinburgh, Scotland, 1850), one plain form by Charles Lumsden (Petersburg, USA, 1829-59 and Richmond, USA, 1859-86), one Onslow pattern with shell bowl by George Smith III (London, England, 1778), one with twisted handle and scalloped bowl by Hotchkiss & Schreuder, (Syracuse, USA, 1857-64), one Oriental pattern by John Polhamus for Tiffany & Co. (New York, USA, 1860) and one Palace pattern with bright-cut engraved bowl by Albert Coles retailed by M. Morgans Jr. (New York, USA, 1835-88).
Sold with 30 additional American or English examples. Toddy ladles unmarked. All other examples marked.

Condition
Largest example measures 16 inches in length. Smallest example measures 9.5 inches in length. Some of the various makers include; Thomas Chawner of London, Ball, Tompkins & Black of New York, Hall Hewson & Co. of Albany, Hugh Gelston of Boston and Baltimore, William Collings of London and John Cook of New York. Varying wear and dents commensurate with normal use over time. Most examples monogrammed. 216 ozt (weighable).
