Item Details

Description

This firm was was of the most highly revered makers of papier-mache lacquerware in Britain. The mark on the back is not the Royal Warrant, this is granted to companies who are approved to supply the Royal household with products for a continuous length of time. The mark on the back of this tray simply indicates that the Royal household used some of their items. The company made tables, wine trays fire screens, boxes, and all manner of wonderfully decorative items. This is a perfect example of the pieces they made until the end of the 19th century. Their pieces are not rare, however, they are highly collectible.
