Description
Chelsea Clock Co., Boston, Mass., "Mariner" shelf clock with 3 3/4 inch silvered brass dial, copper bronzed ring and sub-base (cradle) and correct factory spade hands. The Model T/L movement is powered by a Telechron electric motor and the dial has the oval cut-out intended to alert the viewer when that an interruption of electrical power has occurred. Both movement and wood base are serial numbered 202554 dating its manufacture to "November, 1931" according to Chelsea Clock Company, The First 100 Years (2nd Ed.). The brass case is stamped with number 199632 which dates it to "January 16, 1931."
Condition
The wood base has scuffs and abrasions. Original silvered dial has some scattered scratches. The electrical cord will need to be replaced. We did not test the clock because of the condition of the cord.
