A striking and appealing pencil, pen, and brown wash -watercolor- painting on thick paper. 214 Years old this year. Signed in full on bottom right in ink by the artist (Louis Auguste Meynier-Saint-Faz b.1782 in Brussels) and dated 1817. One of a series of three I found last year. Very livable and displayable size. Size 12 x 14 inches on the blue mat board. Wonderfully executed scene depicting French Crusaders boarding a ship and being bid farewell by the queen. Meynier-Saint-Fal (Faz) was born in 1782 in Brussels then studied and worked in Paris. He is a listed and respected artist known for renderings of architecture, caricatures, and historical vignettes. I have no idea what the art-market value is, so lets play auction.
