Description
A late 18th or early 19th century, probably regency, English tortoise shell inlaid tea caddy with interior tea boxes and a fitting cut crystal mixing bowl. Measures a total of 6.75" tall x 10.75" wide and 5.5" deep. Mixing bowl measures 4.4" tall x 4" diameter. Writing around central cylindrical bowl cradle reads "This caddy belonged to my grandmother Kitty Niblett, born 28 March 1762, marr. 31 May 1784: died 1840". Condition: no key includes, scattered splits to finish, scattered small losses and repairs to finish, a few small interior pieces of construction are separated and included, some loss to inlays, see images.
