Aesthetics of the Past
Join us for the auction of a wonderful collection of antiques and collectibles. Highlights of this collection include a stunning six-flame floral chandelier, made in Austria, c.1850, by famed glassware company J. & L. Lobmeyer. Due to their rarity, their technical complexity and their obvious spectacular effect, chandeliers of this kind were very popular in the 19th C., and this chandelier is similar to one owned by Queen Victoria.
Other highlights include a hanging bell pusher with horse head motifs, fashioned from bronze, early 20th C., and a Napoleon III Warwick vase, made in France in the 19th C., modeled on the antique vase discovered in 1771 in the ruins of Villa Hadrian near Tivoli.
