Magnificent Multi Estate Auction
August 6, 2016 at 9AM CST, Stevens Auction Company is pleased to announce their commission to sell the antique contents of one of Tennessee most historic homes along with other fine old southern homes across the south. The Rucker LaRoche House located in Murfreesboro, TN was built in 1832 and was frequently visited by Andrew Jackson. The house has recently sold and we have been commissioned to sell many of the items. This auction will highlight items such as two full tester plantation beds belonging to former Senator John Bell. He also ran unsuccessfully for President of The United States as a Constitutional Union Candidate in 1860. His personal bed was made by Mitchell & Rammelsberg around 1860 and has carved wood locks and stands 8ft tall.
We will also be selling an estate from Steens, Mississippi containing a lifetime antique collection of beautiful lamps, furniture, glassware, hand painted porcelains, rugs, art work, and other southern finery. There will also be other items from an estate in Alabama including a burl walnut secretary which stands over nine feet tall.
