Pangaea Auctions presents a highly curate selection encompassing a beautiful range of Japanese to French works, Fossil Collection, Oil on Canvas, Gold Collection, and specialty items of Coral. This collection is a collaborative contribution from four major curators in the United States. We provided a Fossil collection because the totality of fossils, both discovered and undiscovered, known as the fossil record, are extraordinary pieces for any collector. Also you will find Civil War, 1861 to 1865, collection. The importance of these pieces is true to American history in which it determined the survival of the Union or independence for the Confederacy. We included French and Canvas collections because of the intrinsic collaboration between the two. Canvas has become the most common support medium for oil painting, replacing wooden panels. One of the earliest known surviving oils on canvas is a French Madonna with angels from around 1410 in the Gemäldegalerie, Berlin. This auction is a journey, from 15th century to 19th century pieces that remain in exceptional museum-like conditions.
