Russian Posters

This sale consists of over 100 Russian propaganda posters of the Soviet period. It features better works by such masters of the propaganda poster genre as Apsit, Moor, Deni, Cheremnykh, Kochergin, Koretsky, Ivanov; three historic photomontage posters by Rodchenko; the often reproduced but seldom offered 1928 Spartakiad by Sergei Vlasov; and a worthy selection of anonymous and collective-signed posters of the Industrialization period. The sale is highlighted by the exceedingly scarce What Should You Read, Worker? 1924 poster by Alexei Levin and Vladimir Mayakovsky that became a rarity almost as soon as it was printed.
