IMPORTANT PAINTINGS AND CONTEMPORARY ART

A+O's first major art catalogue of the year features five works from the Estate of Gordon Walters (1919 - 1965) which reveal the range of the artist's high modernist program. Also included is the major koru inspired canvas Tautahi from 1971 which with the works from the estate constitute a near survey of Walters achievement from the 1960s to the 1990s. Major museum quality and scale works by Shane Cotton, Michael Parekowhai, Andrew McLeod, Peter Robinson, Colin McCahon, Peter Siddell, Milan Mrkusich, Bill Hammond, Tony Fomison, Richard Killeen and Dale Frank make the April 11 catalogue the most significant since the offering of the Les and Milly Paris Collection in 2012 which resulted in the highest art auction sale total in New Zealand history.
