Clarke will be starting the New Year off strong with a wonderful grouping of fine art, decorative arts, period furniture, silver, and Asian antiques. Fine art: American art includes 5 works by Ettinger, Numerous American Artist group prints including Marsh, Landacre, Miller, etc., oils by Ritter, Rosseau, Senat, Inness, Perry, Carlson, 2 abstracts by Mark Tobey, and a rare African American litho Romare Bearden. French works - collection of lithograph posters by Chagall, Lautrec, Gottlob, Steinlen, oils by DeClasade, Claudot, Cosson, Sebire. British works by Knowles, Poole, Langley, and Smallfield. Also included are four estate fresh etchings by Rembrandt and many other unmentioned works. Period antiques include an Irish Parlor set, leather Chesterfield highback love seats, antique grandfather clock, Jacobean chests, continental commodes, regency inlaid table, regency specimen marble game table, Chippendale ball & clawfoot chairs, carpets including an outstanding Peking style carpet.
