The breadth of this collection is a testament to Bennett’s life and career with a wide-ranging selection of items that includes awards and honors, artwork, letters, fine books and manuscripts, autographs, photographs, watches, jewelry, memorabilia and mementos from one of the most beloved figures in the entertainment industry. Bennett’s longevity is unparalleled as evidenced by the fact that he recorded more than 70 albums selling 50 million records over an eight-decade period.His legacy of honors and record-breaking achievements include twenty Grammys with forty-one nominations, including a Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001, two Emmy Awards, a Hollywood Walk of Fame star, Kennedy Center Honors in 2005, National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master in 2006, a Library of Congress Gershwin Prize in 2017, and MusiCares Person of the Year in 1995. In 2007, he was inducted in to the International Civil Rights Walk of Fame for his lifelong activism and work in social justice. He received three Guinness World Records: for “oldest performer in history to reach number one on the US album sales chart” (at the age of 88 years old); a Guinness World Record for "the longest time between the release of an original recording and a re-recording of the same single by the same artist" (for his re-recording of "Fascinating Rhythm" 68 years and 342 days after the original recording); and a Guinness World Record for “the oldest person to release a new album” (at the age of 95 years old).
