Important Private Collection Auction

Jumbo Auction House is proud to bring you items from a private collection. Formerly collected by the noble Tokugawa family in the Kansai region of Japan. These goods were first hidden in a temple called Bodaiji in the Kansai region. As time passed, the temple began to deteriorate and the cost of maintenance grew. The abbot at the time, Otiai, found himself in a difficult situation. In a bid to raise the necessary funds, he sold these valuable items to the Tokugawa family. In return, the Tokugawa family financed the much-needed repairs to the temple. In addition to the private collection, this auction will have of other enticing works of art such as jade, bronze, cinnabar lacquer, paintings, jewelry, soapstone, snuff bottles, statues, porcelain vases, carvings, coins and much more!
