This sale features an important mid 19 th c book of 20 large fish Ukiyo-e woodblock prints by Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858) intact with original cover boards and title pages descending from Captain Charles Augustus Ranlett (Maine 1804-1878) of the fast clipper ship ?Surprise?, with note gifting it to him in 1860, three Vermont landscape oils on canvas by 19 th c Burlington artist Charles Louis Heyde (1822-1889), and a rare ca 1856 redware jar with incised verse signed James Jones (likely Portland, ME). Also of note are several items descending in the family of J P Morgan Jr, including fine porcelain tableware bearing his monogram. an extensive collection of 19 th c woodenware painted with winter scenes, and a good grouping of early Vermont stoneware.
