Graduated from the Faculty of Law of Chuo University in 1919. Yakichiro Suma joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the same year. He was appointed the Consul-General of Nanking in 1933 to conduct negotiations with Republic of China National Government. He was also known as an art collector and about 500 of his collection gathered. The calligraphy and painting by Yakichiro Suma offered in this auction are exceptional examples of his artistry, showcasing the full range of his passion and vision.
