Fall 2005 Quality Auction

The two-day Slosberg Fall Quality Auction will include more than 800 lots in the following categories: Fine and Decorative Arts (25 September); Furniture and architectural antiques (25 September); Estate silver and jewelry (26 September). Among the featured items will be a Philadelphia private collection of 30 original mixed media renderings, most of which were created by renowned industrial designer Raymond F. Loewy for the Pennsylvania Railroad during the 1930's and 40's. An elaborately carved Philadelphia Second Empire bed with dresser ensuite, and believed to have been made for display at the 1876 Centennial Exposition will lead the furniture entries, together with several Belter-type arm and side chairs. A broad selection of Oriental, American, and Continental porcelain and bronzes, art glass, and a fine Harriet Frishmuth sculpture, "Laughing Waters", will be sold among 350 lots of decorative arts. During the second session, on Monday evening at 6 PM, English, Continental, and American antique silver will be offered jointly with some 100 lots of estate jewelry. PLEASE NOTE: Only selected lots in each category of property will be available for online bidding. There may be brief delays in the progress of the online segment of the sale as we move from one category to the next. You will be notified routinely of any such delays as they occur.
