Mr. Tannewitz was the collector's collector. He was known throughout the region as the "father of local history" and a friend to all. His life was devoted to collecting everything from gold coins, collectables, and the best East Tennessee Bank currency collection known to exist. This event will be one to remember. We will also be conducting two other sales. The second will be the contents of the house including a great Victorian cylinder roll- fine pottery and glass-toys-advertising items etc and then we will have a historical auction including photographs, collectable paper, books, local history items which including everything from early checks, Andrew Johnson autograph, Big Springs Saloon jug, post cards and much more. The basement and the attic a completely packed.
There will be well over 170 lots of proof sets, type coins, fine silver dollars which have not seen daylight for over a half of a century, silver bullion, modern gold Liberty coins, all denominations of early US gold coins including a $3.00.
