IRELAND-ONLY Rare Stamps & Postal History

Our Autumn auction includes some of the rarest items in Irish Philately, starting with a 1714 Letter with a very fine straight-line CORK and an 1839 Letter from Dublin to London with handstruck "4". Many Inverted Overprint and "Missing Accent" errors are also offered, as well as 50 lots of Essays and Trials. The key item in the sale is a mint copy of the rare 1935 2d coil SG 74b / Scott 68b. Definitives and Commemoratives are well represented with various "Specimen" Overprints (all rare!), also 2 "missing colours" and a newly-discovered and spectacular Europa mis-perf. Unusual items include interesting Dog Licence and Railway stamps. An exceptional collection of Airmails is offered in single lots including an "Isle de France" cover from Ireland (only 2 known), a 'Columbia' cover addressed to Dublin, and FIVE different Irish Zeppelin Covers from Dublin up to the very rare 1934 Christmas Flight. The auction concludes with a particularly strong Postal Stationery section featuring a 1947 1 shilling Telegram Form and Aerograms.
