Japanese & Korean Works of Art

Hindman is pleased to present the sale of Japanese & Korean Works of Art on September 22nd. Comprising a range of objects spanning three centuries, highlights include a fine group of Japanese cloisonné including works by Ando Jubei, a pair of large presentation vases (lot 445) and a cloisonné enamel and plique-a-jour bowl (lot 446). The sale also features fine metal works and a compelling single collection of E-awase Katura playing cards from an important private Chicago collection, meticulously acquired and curated over decades, with provenance from important Japanese auctions at major houses. Other categories include a selection of elegant ikebana baskets, with signed works by contemporary artisans, a collection of finely worked inro, and concludes with a group of Japanese art reference books from an important private collection.
