John Moran is proud to present Art of the American West Online on July 26th, 2022. This auction will feature a wide variety of collectibles including an array of 20th-century Navajo rugs and textiles from weavers such as Isabel John, and Bertha Chee, as well as woven offerings from Chimayo. Fine Puebloan pottery from Santa Clara by LuAnn Tafoya, Kaa Folwell, and Harrison Begay, Jr. will be presented, as well as colorful pottery from Acoma, Hopi, and San Ildefonso Pueblos. Fine Art selections include works by Heinie Hartwig, Dorothy Sklar, Tony Abeyta, Fritz Scholder, Langdon Smith, Edward Borein, Bud Boller, RC Gorman, and more, with an equal mix of dramatic Western landscapes and vibrant contemporary images. Work by Inuit artists such as Elijah Michael and Kenojuak Ashevak are a particular highlight. Also on offer will be an exceptionally fine selection of Northwest Coast art, including carved painted masks, a painted drum, and striking sculptures. An abundance of American Indian jewelry will be offered, including cuffs, necklaces & rings in turquoise and silver by various artists, including Anthony Lovato, and some early silver pieces. From silver to gold, don?t miss the vintage gold-mining tools and equipment with original ephemera, as well as a selection of early 20th Century postcards to give historic views of the American West and beyond.
