Native American Art: Coll. of Forrest Fenn
Hindman Auctions is honored to present the first of two auctions offering selections from Forrest Fenn's personal Native American Art collection on June 9 in our brand-new Cincinnati saleroom. Perhaps best known for his hidden treasure, Fenn was an institution in the Native American and Western Art collecting communities with his unforgettable collection of dolls, massively sized pueblo pottery and Apache baskets, and his wall of strike-a-light cases. Among the remarkable pieces offered in Part I are an Exceptional Collection of Quanah Parker Photographs (lot 301); a pair of Kiowa Beaded Hide Leggings from the studio of Western artist Henry Balink (lot 307); a Kiowa Beaded Strike-a-Light Case (lot 329); Rare Wasco or Yakima Doll with Pictorial Cradle (lot 351); a Pueblo Buffalo Hide Shield (lot 419); an Early Cochiti Pottery Storage Jar, with exceptional size (lot 443); and a Hopi Butterfly Maiden (lot 459).
