The Collection of Mary B. Schwab
The Collection of Mary B. Schwab, Stoneleigh Horse Farm, Middleburg, VA. Nestled in the rolling countryside of Middleburg, Virginia, Stoneleigh Farm resonates with country house charm and southern hospitality. Mary S. Schwab worked with her friend and interior designer, Dan Carithers, to create a comfortable and relaxed ambiance at the farm, filling the house with a mix of English antiques, rustic furniture, sporting art and ceramics. Combined with charming chintz upholstery, needlework and botanical prints, the interiors were sophisticated and gracious, yet eminently livable and suitable to life on a working horse farm. Highlights include a George III Black Japanned Tall Case Clock, a William IV Mahogany Writing Desk, a set of Eight French School trompe l?oeil paintings, a Swedish Poplar Chest of Drawers, an Italian Walnut Trestle Table, an equestrian painting by John Wheeler, and fine array of marbleized glazed pottery.
