Latin Art & Post-War & Contemporary Art
Doyle's auction of Latin Art & Post-War & Contemporary Art on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 11am will present important paintings and sculpture by some of the 20th and 21st centuries' most prominent artists. Encompassing works by American, European and Asian artists, the sale will span artistic movements from Abstract Expressionism, Pop Art and Minimalism, moving through Fluxus and Mail Art to Street Art and works by emerging artists.
The Post-War & Contemporary Art auction will begin with an offering of works by Latin American artists comprising lots 1 - 58. Among the auction highlights are a watercolor by Diego Rivera, two portraits by Victor Manuel, and prints by Rufino Tamayo. The sale will also feature a large sculpture by Cornelius Zitman, a rare work on jute by Mira Schendel, and a group of original works and editions by Francisco Zúñiga.
Immediately following the works by Latin American artists will be an offering of Post-War & Contemporary Art by American, European and Asian artists comprising lots 59 - 97. Among the sale highlights are works by Roger Brown, Kwang-Young Chun, Sorel Etrog, Betty Goodwin, Richard Hambleton, Wolf Kahn, Margaret Kilgallen, Helmut Lang, Sylvia Mangold, Louise Nevelson, Will Ryman, and Martin Wong.
