Chinese and Southeast Asian Works of Art
The September 24 auction offers a selection of attractive Chinese and Southeast Asian works of art, including Qing Dynasty porcelain and Ming and Qing Dynasty jade, as well as 18th/19th century Himalayan gilt bronze figures. Also offered is a Rare and Fine Imperial Folding Fan from the Qianlong period, a pair of embroidered silk round fans from the Qing imperial court and a collection of Chinese fine books and manuscripts from the C.T. Loo library.
Among all the fine pieces, highlights include an extremely rare copy of the Bogu tulu kaozheng, dated from the Ming dynasty and with exceptional provenance from the private libraries of Sheng Xuanhuai, C.T. Loo and Cheng Bofen, as well as a selection of important foundational works informing the study and collection of Chinese art in the early 20th century.
