In this sale, we have brought together a handful of consignments from beautiful American homes that one might say have all been decorated in English taste. Our client, Mr. Moye, purchased and furnished his beautiful home in Greenwich, Connecticut with fine examples of Georgian and Regency furniture that demonstrated his keen eye for the most exquisite small details. Another 18,000 square foot Connecticut home, which the Stair family helped furnish for more than twenty years, represents the towering achievements of a wonderfully talented decorator. Every nook and cranny of the home felt intimate and tastefully considered. A special piece in this sale is the George II double chair back settee. Colin Stair has had the pleasure of being acquainted with this piece for thirty-five years, and we are selling it here for the second time. To further illustrate the rich variety of the English style, we have added Chinese Export Porcelain, Dutch and English Delft, in concert with an elegant selection of other decorations and lighting, to round out your new English Interior!
