Bruneau & Co. Auctioneers is proud to present a Summer online-only antiques and fine art auction on Thursday, July 23rd at 6:00 PM. The auction will consist of over 310 lots collected from estates across New England sold at no reserve. The auction will open with 100 lots of fine art highlighted by two examples of modern Indian art. The first a watercolor on paper painting of a horse by Maqbool Fida Hussain (1913-2011) and the second an oil on canvas painting of a young woman by B. Prabha (1933-2001). Other fine art highlights include an egg tempura on paper abstract painting by David Clyde Driscoll (1931-2020), acrylic on canvas Liberty Head painting by Peter Max (b.1937), and two estate fresh oil on canvas board paintings by Abbott Fuller Graves (1859-1936).
The second portion of the catalog will offer an eclectic mix of decorative arts, crystal, porcelain, furniture, jewelry, Asian arts, and modern design highlighted by an exceptional Chinese Qing Dynasty porcelain plaque table screen. Other Asian art highlights include a second Chinese porcelain table screen, Chinese Qing Dynasty dragon and phoenix vase, and a fine Chinese gilt bronze lute pipa form censer. The furniture offerings are highlighted by a set of six Limbert #1171 Ebon-Oak dining room chairs. Other furniture highlights include a magnificent 19th century Federal satin inlaid mahogany breakfast table, French Country inlaid mahogany table, and pair of Louis XVI demilune gilt white console tables. Within the furniture offerings will be a nice selection of modern design including a Schubert Industries whiskey barrel suite, various pieces of Dillingham furniture, Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin, and many pieces of Danish and American mid-century modern furniture. Throughout the sale there will be over 40 lots of jewelry highlight by a fine diamond and sapphire bracelet earing suite.
