Burchard Galleries Proudly Presents
The Estate Collection of the Late Raymond & Erica Whyte Selling at Absolute Auction, August 24th & 25th, 2008 in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Raymond A. Whyte (1923 - 2002), Internationally Famous Portrait and Surrealist/Neomannerist Painter. His works of art and fine furnishings are available at this rare, once in a lifetime Auction. Raymond A. Whyte's works hang in the collections of Malcolm Forbes, J. Paul Getty, Orson Bean, Fred Harvey, Mrs. Stuyvesant Pierrepont, B. Gerald Cantor, the World Trade Center of late, and the DeBeers Museum to name just a few. Commissioned by many prominent people and leaders of industry, his one man exhibitions in New York, London, San Francisco and Paris exposed his magnificent detailed works to rave reviews. Raymond A. Whyte is known as a master of Trompe L'oeil, still life and portraits. Many of his works have a haunting dimension of eternity. His colors trap a mixture of realism and mysticism. "His technique is so arresting, it almost becomes an end in itself, and yet the total effect is something beyond brilliant craftsmanship and closer to magical", New York art critic Harold Callen.
This collection is being offered at Auction with other important works of art, jewelry, carved Horner Dining Suite, and other fine furnishings from over 20 prestigious estates, August 24th & 25th, 2008 at Burchard Galleries in St. Petersburg, Florida.
