Our November Historic Fashion & Textile auction will be held at 160 Central Park West, "Landmark on the Park" , opposite Central Park in New York City. It promises to be an exceptional sale with new-to-market pieces from many institutions, estates and private collections. Objects included come from the Museum of the City of New York (sold to benefit the museum's collection fund), a prominent Southern institution, items sold to benefit many historical society costume collections with additions from many estates and private consignors. Our November Historic Fashion & Textile auction in New York City is filled with never-before-offered vintage gems, promising to be another great sale full of surprises. Our posted catalog of rare clothing, textile objects and fashion accessories come from museums, estates and private collections across the country. This auction will feature an amazing example of the rarest textile that's ever passed our auction block- a hat made from Sea Silk (Byssus). Some other featured items include early couture gems from the House of Dior, Jeanne Paquin, Mariano Fortuny, Jean Desses and numerous Madame Gres couture gowns consigned by a Rockefeller heir.
