Myers Auction Gallery will present its European & 20th Century Decorative Arts auction on Sunday, February 24th, 2008 beginning at 12 Noon EST. Gallery located at 1600 Fourth Street North, St. Petersburg, Florida. Preview Saturday, February 23, from 10-6 p.m., and Sunday, February 24, from 10-12 p.m. Early preview by appointment. Auction will feature a collection of fine, European and 20th Century Decorative Arts items consisting of over 500 fresh-to-the-market antiques from 18th Century European antiques to the more modern Art Deco, Art Nouveau, Arts & Crafts, and Mid Century period. Items offered were acquired from private collections and estates in the Northeast and Florida. European highlights include 18th and 19th Century European furniture including a signed Mathieu Criarde Chinoserie ladies desk, German Baroque and English chests. A collection of antique European porcelain by Meissen, KPM, Minton, and French makers will be offered as well as a fine selection of European ivory, silver, bronze and marble sculpture and glass. Over twenty-five estate oriental rugs including, 19th Century room-size Serapi carpets will compliment the sale. Twentieth Century Decorative Arts highlights include a selection of scenic glass shade lamps by Handel, Pairpoint, Chicago Mosaic and other makers. Art Glass by Galle, Loetz, Steuben and Italian makers will be offered. The sale will also feature American and European Art Pottery. A large selection of Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Arts & Crafts sterling with ornate Tiffany and Gorham bowls, tea sets and trays will be included. Twentieth Century furniture by G. Rohde, Widdicomb, H. Miller, Le Courbusier Cassina, and other Danish, Swiss, Norwegian and American modern furniture will go on the block at the spacious, sky-lighted, 9,200-square-foot space in an Art Deco building designed specifically for auctions.
