1920 Wilson Gold Medal, U.S. Mint, Philippines, graded by PCGS as MS-62 and presented in the PCGS sealed slab *Provenance: Heirs of the estate of Victor E. Lednicky (1888-1970), resident of Philippines, c. 1914, Chief of the Division of Mines and Mining of the Bureau of Science, later President of Lepanto Consolidated Mining Co., a copper, gold and silver mine. Lednicky was General MacArthur's civilian liaison for Manila during WWII. *Note: The U.S. Mint, Manila, operated from 1920-1922 and again from 1925-1941. Some records indicate that there are 5 known examples of this gold medal, one source, the Hibler & Kapen book "So Called Dollars", 1963, that states one of was given to President Wilson, a second given to Wilson's Secretary of War, Newton Baker.*
