Estate Artwork

For this sale we will be selling 2 collections of artwork as well as a collection of sporting related books. The first collection of artwork is primarily water colors dating from 1940-70 by Woodstock artist Walt Peters (1894-1985). Mr. Peters was a member of the Woodstock Artist Association in Woodstock NY. His work is of high quality and strikingly simliar to that of another Woodstock artist Carl W. Peters, though don't know if they were related. Also included in the sale are 50 lots, of pen and ink drawings for Bantam Books done by an artist named Ballantine. They are not signed but some have notations around the borders indicating the title of the Bantam publication. This includes: Assault in Norway, Sink 'em All, Above and Beyond, War as I Knew It (Gen. Patton), etc. Most of the pen and ink drawings are military related from WWI thru Vietnam and contain drawings of paratroopers, marines, naval including battleships and submarines, and airforce including early bi-planes and jets, etc. Also included in this sale are approximately 100 antiques sporting related books on hunting and fishing, birds, wildlife, etc. to be sold in groups. These books are all from the Long Island estate containing the decoy collection that we recently sold.
