The October 27 auction offers important English and Continental furniture and decorations from the 17th through early 19th centuries, as well as Georgian silver, Continental porcelain, clocks, chandeliers, tapestries, rugs, Chinese Export porcelain, Asian works of art, and Old Master paintings. Highlighting the CONTINENTAL FURNITURE are a Regence gilt-wood console and gilt-wood mirror, a Louis XV marquetry inlaid side table signed by Sebastian Vie, and a set of four Louis XV beechwood fauteuils by Francois Noel Geny. Among the decorations are a collection of Sevres porcelain and a collection of Chinese Export armorial porcelain. ENGLISH FURNITURE offers a group of very fine George III gilt-wood mirrors, a Regency parcel gilt and mahogany bedstead decorated with sphinxes, and a George III painted settee. IRISH FURNITURE features an early Victorian marquetry fold-over games table made for Muckross House, Killarney, Co. Kerry, Ireland. OLD MASTER PAINTINGS are highlighted by a Village Wedding by Arnold van Maas (Dutch, 1620-1664), a Pastoral Landscape by the School of Francesco Zuccarelli, a Portrait of the Duc d’Orleans by the School of Hyacinthe Rigaud, and a Portrait of a Woman with a Lute by the Circle of Charles Beaubrun. The ASIAN WORKS OF ART include the Florence and Ralph Spencer Collection of Chinese Blue and White Porcelain, comprising over 60 lots dating to the Kangxi Period, as well as of fine Chinese cloisonné and Japanese porcelain.
