The RoseAnn Comstock estate from Detroit, MI featuring oil paintings by: Alfred Thompson Bricher, Franz van Saverdonck, John Frederick Herring the Younger, Charles Cooper Henderson, William Richards Sr., Granville Perkins, also works in the style of Abraham Brughel (a 17th c. oil), follower of/manner of Sir Edwin Landseer and attributed to George Inness. Additionally from the estate are Russian icons as well as an extensive graphics collection including: Albrecht Durer (8 selections), Adriaen Jansz van Ostade, Thomas Hart Benton, Childe Hassam, Hendrik Goltzius, Raphael Soyer, Hieronymous Cock, Stow Wengenrath, James Abbott McNeill Whistler, Erté and John Taylor Arms to name but a few. Bronze sculptures after: Pierre-Jules Mêne, Jules Moigniez, Irene Rochard, Antoine-Louis Bayre, Alfred Barye, Auguste Nicolas Cain, plus an original bronze sculpture by Carl Wagner are also from the Comstock estate. A Marc-Louis Solon, Minton pate sur pate vessel rounds out the offerings. Important unique artwork by artists from other consignments include: Eastman Johnson, Louis Aston Knight, in the manner of Louis Marie de Schryver, Louis Valtat, Jean-Gabriel Domergue, Leon Jean Basile Perrault, Ladislaus Bakalowicz, Pierre Bittar, David Emile Joseph de Noter, John Friedlinger, Hua Chen, B. Shanghai, Paul Jenkins and Antoine Blanchard plus graphics by Pablo Picasso, Alexander Calder and Marc Chagall. Closing out the fine arts highlights is a gouache and ink on paper by Alexander Calder from 1967 and a watercolor by Milton Avery. Rounding out the Sunday features are collections of fine jewelry, Oriental rugs, French decorative arts and furniture as well as oriental decorative arts.
