Outstanding Antiques & Fine Art Auction

Bruneau & Co. Auctioneers is proud to announce our important September estate antiques and fine art auction featuring over 450 lots curated from collections and estates across the country. Notable features include a selection of three rare Tiffany Studios floor and table lamps from a private Houston, Texas collection and the contents of the Pawtucket, Rhode Island Preservation Society Joseph Spaulding House. The auction will open with two vehicles, a 1929 Ford Model A closed cab pickup truck followed by a 1922 Ford Model T wood body depot hack truck. The second portion of the catalog will offer 143 lots of fine art and works on paper highlighted by an oil on canvas abstract painting by John Von Wicht (1888-1970), purchased from Bertha Schafer Gallery, New York, the painting is just one of several works from the living estate of Dr. and Mrs. Silverstein, Woodbridge, Connecticut. Other fine art highlights include an Impressionist oil on canvas painting of a Mediterranean harbor by Norris Rahming (1886-1959), early classical American portrait painting of a girl by Charles Wesley Jarvis (1812-1868), and a nocturnal landscape painting of a village by Robert Bruce Crane (1857-1937). Works on paper highlights include two original hand colored etchings by John James Audubon (1785-1851) of Pectoral Sandpipers and Ivory-Billed Woodpeckers, both are first editions published by Robert Havell, London. Other works on paper highlights include Marilyn with Gold Roses (The Scar) from The Last Sitting for Vogue, 1962 by Bert Stern (1929-2013) and Yankee Doodle, 1975, geometric pop silkscreen by Gene Davis (1920-1985). Within the selection of works on paper will be a collection of seventeen Art Nouveau period illustration posters from the property of the Boston Company, Inc., Asset Management, purchased from Ainsworth Gallery, Boston. The second portion of the catalog will offer 330 eclectic lots of antiques, Asian art, decorative arts, and period American furnishings.
