The sale has a broad and diverse group of works that span from the 17th century through modern day. There is a spectacular offering of Self-Taught and Outsider Art being sold from the NAMITS Collection. This group is wonderfully expressive, visually stimulating and reflective of the artists that created it. Works by Thorton Dial, Purvis Young, Jimmy Lee Sudduth, Harriet Wiseman and Justin McCarthy can all be found in the sale. The NAMITS collection also offers a nice selection of paintings and sculpture by European artists such as Francios Bard, Jean-Pierre Ceytaire and Charlotte Culot. Also included in this auction is a nice selection of works being offered by the Westervelt Corporation. There are two exceptional Felix Kelly pieces which are superb commentaries on the progression of America and the South in particular. The collection also contains a nice group of Edward Lamson Henry drawings. There are some nice sporting art pictures by Frank Wooten and Raoul Millas. In addition to the paintings, there are a number of fabulous frames that were supplied by firms such as Eli Wilner & Co., a leading frame restorer and company in New York City. Another consignor is offering a trio of delightful Wilson Irvine paintings which offer impressionistic views of Lyme, Connecticut, a New Orleans courtyard and a harbor scene. The light dances off the canvases and the paintings have a way of inviting and drawing the viewer right into the scene. Whether you like Dutch Old Masters or Contemporary works by artists like Robert Motherwell and Helen Frankenthaler, this sale will have something that will certainly suit your tastes. We invite you to come view the works in person or on line. Happy bidding!
