Treadway/Toomey Galleries are pleased to present their 20th Century Art & Design auction held on Sunday March 4th at the John Toomey Gallery located in Oak Park (a Chicago suburb), at 818 North Blvd, phone # 708.383.5234. This important three session sale contains over 1100 lots. The first session contains important items in Arts and Crafts, Art Nouveau and Art Deco, from Gustav Stickley, Limbert, Lifetime furniture, metal works by Jarvie, Roycroft, Heintz, Cellini Craft and others, ceramics by Newcomb, Rookwood, Marblehead, Van Briggle, Hampshire, Teco, Fulper, Clifton, Weller, as well as European ceramics such as Amphora, Massier, Baudin, Denbac, Rosenberg and others. A large and wonderful selection of Shaker furniture and accessories as well as 200 plus lots of Native American Indian baskets, vases, clothing, and accessories. A large selection of art glass such as Tiffany, Steuben, Lalique, Loetz, Galle', Daum and others. There is also a large selection of lamps by Handel, Tiffany, Dirk van Erp, Wilkinson and others. The second session will include Fine Arts and Paintings featuring several works by such artists as Ellis Prentice Cole, Alexis Jean Fournier, Tunis Ponsen, Aime Perret, Paul Sargent, Reginald Marsh, Charles Sebree, Walter Henry Williams, Dorothy Bartholemy and many other examples by American and European artists. The third session consists of Mid Century-Modern by such designers as George Nelson, Eames, Isamu Noguchi, Paul Frankl, Milo Baughman, Charles Pfister, Ed Wormely, Gilbert Rohde, Bruno Mathsson, Robsjohn-Gibbings, Le Corbusier and others.
