Fisher Foundation, Marjorie Fisher died at her home in Palm Beach, Florida surrounded by her family at the age of ninety two. Rarely are remarkable collections assembled by accident. They are built as a result of a refined curatorial eye, careful selection, and a bit of fancy. The Fishers were well known collectors of Georgian and Continental furniture and Decorative arts, Modern and Impressionist art, as well as Mrs. Fisher?s fabulous jewelry collection, termed ?The Stuff Of Dreams? in the Sotheby?s Fall Jewelry auction. Collecting aside, Marjorie Fisher continues to be best known for her philanthropy to non-sectarian charities, particularly in Detroit and in Florida. The Fisher children follow their mother?s philosophy of ?all giving starts with your heart, and then use your head?, quietly advancing their mother?s vision of enriching humanity by strengthening and empowering children and helping others.
