The Watch Sale
Arguably one of the hottest collectors? brands at the moment, Heuer is going from strength to strength in the second-hand market. April?s Watch Sale is a veritable treasure trove for the Heuer collector.
Star lots in this auction have to be the Heuer chronographs (lots 105 ? 109). They range from the more accessible Daytona automatic, and early manual wind watches, to the rarer, Carrera Dato 45 and double signed Carrera. One mustn?t forget the Autavia ?Rindt?. This watch is the source of much interest at the moment, as it is an original example of the watch TAG Heuer chose to re-issue at this year?s Basel fair.
In this sale, there is a great selection of Breitling Navitimers and Chronomats. One lot to note in particular is lot 17, a gentleman's stainless steel Navitimer Chronomat chronograph watch, a reference 808. This piece is entered to sale with an estimate of £1,000 - £1,500
This auction offers for sale a brace of Omega Flightmasters, one with a ?Tropical? dial, and one without, lots 164 and 196, respectively.
Contemporary luxury hasn?t been eschewed in favour of vintage pieces this month. There is plenty to please contemporary watch collectors. The rose gold Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Squadra Chronograph, lot 125, stands out particularly in this auction.
While the Rolex section is continually strong in these sales, this month, the modern Rolex models shine. This auction features no less than five bi-metal Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona chronograph watches, varying in designs with dials in blue, black and white.
