OTSA 32- DAY 3 TOY ARMIES- JOPLIN COLLECTION
April 7th, 8th and 9th, 2017
Toy Armies: Presented within this three-day sale you will find an exceptional assortment of toy soldiers and civilian figures. The first day contains a large number of modern manufacturers from King and Country to some very desirable Trophy sets. Day 2 has a vast array of figures from old to new and is highlighted by a number or rare items which were originally part of the Malcolm Forbes Tangier Museum Collection. These lots were sold in New York in December 1997 and have not been available since that time. Finally, on Day 3 of the sale we are featuring the Norman Joplin collection of civilian toy figures. Between 1970 and 1998 Mr. Joplin amassed a huge collection of military and civilian figures. This unique reference collection formed the basis of The Great Book of Hollow Cast Figures and Hollow Cast Civilian Toy figures. These two books are considered the most definitive reference books on the subjects. Over the last 17 years Norman has steadily built a second reference collection devoted to civilian and non-military lead figures. Old Toy Soldier Auctions USA is proud to offer this collection of rare and unusual items in the first 295 lots of the Sunday secession. Use this wonderful opportunity to add the items you have always wanted -- It may be years before they are offered again.
