The auction description is clear: Nudes-Photogravures and Other Processes There was no misrepresentation as we state quite clearly in the details what is being bid on. It is important to read the details of any auction before bidding. Here are the details that Mr. Villee obviously did not read: Photogravure is an intaglio printmaking or photo-mechanical process whereby a copper plate is grained (adding a pattern to the plate) and then coated with a light-sensitive gelatin tissue which had been exposed to a film positive, and then etched, resulting in a high quality intaglio plate that can reproduce detailed continuous tones of a photograph. Halftone is the reprographic technique that simulates continuous-tone imagery through the use of dots, varying either in size or in spacing, thus generating a gradient-like effect. A full refund was offered, but Mr. Villee did not return the picture in question. A copy of the message sent to Mr. Villeee: This auction description clearly states Photogravures and other processes. No misrepresentation was made as it is quite clear that these are not photographs. In the description a definition of this was given. The image you bid on is a circa 1919 Albert Arthur Allen photo-mechanical image, not a reproduction of same as you state. We are sorry you are dissatisfied and ask that you send the item back after December 3rd and we will refund your purchase price once it is received. Auction Curators

This auction was not misrepresented. It clearly stated in the Auction Description: "20th century nude photogravures and other photo-mechanical processes." Nowhere does it state that these items were photographs. If you do not read all the details given then you will be disappointed. I offered you a refund but you did not return the item. I look forward to sorting this out with liveauctioneers if they consider this any kind of problem.
