The two so-called "sterling" lots were NOT what was advertised; most pieces were just plain metal. There was no way to know I would be in charge of arranging for shipping myself, instead of the usual mailing done by the auction house. I sent the pieces back; I am still awaiting an answer from Shabtai's regarding admission of wrongful advertisement and refund. Thank you, Francoise M. , **********, (h) **********

I asked Shabtai's for the name of a shipper and top name on their list. Unbeknownst to me, the shipped specializes in heavy and large items and has a minimum order. That was not made clear to me. The shipping fee exceeded the value of my item, so I never authroized delivery. I asked Shabtai to intervene, but they were unable to influence the shipper to cooperate. Shabtai got their money from me, but I never got my purchased items.

I still have not received my item... I paid on 10/7... The auction house was fine, but the shipper charged me an extra $10 to pick up the item and another $10 for packing in addition to the $29 for shipping... Most shippers just charge me around $29 in total... Was not happy about the extra charges.

The experience would have been better if the auction house used a shipper that wasn't rude, condescending arragant

Auction house does not do in-house shipping. I had 5 small items that weighed less than 2 pounds total. Their recommended shippers wanted anywhere from $78 to $112 to pick up, pack and ship and the lot only cost $50.00. I paid for the items and told them to keep them. I'll never deal with an auction house that doesn't ship small items in-house again. I buy a lot on your site and I've even given thought to stopping that practice also. Jim

I wish the description of the neoclassical clock I won in the bidding had stated the clock was not operable and the key was missing. I now am have to find a repair shop to work on it if I wish to have it operate. The staff of the auction house was very helpful with my questions prior to the auction, especially in suggesting a shippers. My experience with the shipping company I chose was phenomenal. Could not have been more pleased! I look forward to following this auction house and hopefully bid again.

They did not photograph the missing sections of the mirror or did they mention that the mirror was incomplete
