Very professional auction house
Over the years, I have purchased numerous items at different auctions, and Freedom Auction House ranks right at the top. They carefully and accurately describe their items and they manage a well organized auction during the bidding process. Shipping is often in-house and the packaging and shipping cost is very reasonable. They are great auctioneer to work with.

It you read the description of the item it is correct. Freedom is so nice to do business with in shipping, payment, and descriptions.

Condition after the Sale
The listing said the slot machine works. I think it did. It looks like people were allowed to play it posable before during and after the sale. My problem is, left unsupervised, people forced Nickles and other objects into a Quarter Machine. This is a 90-year-old antique and it was damaged. After picking it up, I set it up next to my other Milles Machine and tried to play it. It was so jammed up the Quarter would not drop down the slot. The next thing I got to do with my new machine was to take it out for service. Now I am investing $400 into a machine that did work at some point before I bid on it. My complaint is, people, customers or what you might call potential bidders, should not touch the items others have inspected as, this changes the condition of the item and the buyer has no idea now what he is bidding on. What you thought the condition was in, is not the same when you pick it up if it is open to the public to damage it.

Thanks for the lousy public review Peter. In the future, you might want to contact us directly to help rectify the situation. We totally agree with you. Unfortunately we can’t control the general public and their actions 100 % percent of the time. We can however control ours. We would have been happy to correct the situation post-auction if you had communicated with us instead of just listing a negative review. A little late for that now..

New shipping partners needed.
Ended up donating my item because it was going to cost twice as much as I paid for the item and twice as much as a quote going the other way from my local shipper.

Seems unfair to give the auction house a two star review over cost of shipping. You purchased a large and heavy item. This was poor research on part of the bidder to bid, then give us negative feedback because they didn’t do the research in advance.

Hefty buyer's premium. Poor service.
The company got its money and then left it to me to arrange for shipping of my item.

The auction was held at a special convention in Illinois on August 26th. The third party shipper, UPS Store 4486, received your item on August 27th. On August 30th, that store emailed a quote for shipping which you didn't respond to until September 18th. At that point, the shipper did in fact mail your item. We did make the necessary coordination and the shipper did not hear from you. That is not on us as the auction service. As we state in our terms, please allow up to 15 days for shipment. Yours was ahead of schedule. We are sorry you are not satisfied and most certain that we can do nothing to satisfy you a this point, regardless of our buyer's premium. All you had to do was give an authorization for shipment and payment and you would have had your item within 7 days of the auction closing.

Expensive shipping.
While the lot I purchased was reasonable, the shipping was too expensive. You need to have an in-house shipping department.

Thank you for the review. While we do in fact offer in house shipping, some items are sent to third party shipping due to size or other factors. We always recommend that bidders conduct their due diligence prior to bidding to determine shipping cost to your location prior to bidding.
